This delicious, Kermit green latte is packed with antioxidants, and just enough caffeine to make me happy, not hysterical. I picked up my matcha at a Japanese grocery store, but you can also find it at tea shops and organic grocery stores.
This matcha latte is creamy and sweet, and makes a satisfying alternative to a traditional latte. In terms of equipment, you may want to invest in a matcha brush, which gives this drink it's characteristic froth. A whisk also gets the job done.
- In a small saucepan, bring milk to a light simmer over medium-high heat
- Place teaspoon matcha in a small bowl, then slowly add boiling water. Whisk lightly, then add milk and honey, to taste.
- Using a whisk or matcha brush, froth latte using an up-and-down "W" motion.
- 3/4 Cup unsweetened almond or cashew milk
- 1/4 Cup boiling water
- 1 Teaspoon matcha
- Honey, to taste
